A part of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the Center offers help to students in improving skills in writing, grammar and usage, math and statistics, science, reading, studying, test taking, and, through a peer tutoring program, virtually any subject taught on the campus.
The UIS Center for Teaching and Learning is a friendly study place. All students, particularly undergraduates, are assured courteous, diplomatic assistance. The CTL offers individual appointments and small group presentations, online and fact-to-face, in a richly supportive learning environment. "Confidentiality and Respect" is the CTL motto. Our staff is pledged to nurture students academically using tried and true approaches to teaching and learning.
The Center for Teaching and Learning helps to improve student recruitment and retention through offering students who are willing to work and to study the highest quality courteous academic support with their reading, writing, mathematics, and science.
