A Message from Kandice PryorAs a UIS alumni and former CTL Teaching Assistant, I have an understanding of how the CTL should meet student needs, provide effective services, and always align with the campus' mission statement. With a B.A. and M.A. in English and a minor in secondary education, I began working in the CTL as a Writing Specialist/Clinical Instructor. Now, I enthusiastically serve the university as interim director, directing the areas of service the CTL provides to ensure academic success to all students.
I appreciate diversity in terms of student learning and collaboration, accessible services, and future technologies. I enjoy working in an environment that fosters life-long learning and academic assistance to students at all levels from all majors. Since the CTL tutors and Teaching Assistants are students as well, we will continue providing enriching working environments for employees to gain professional development for future careers.
As the university grows, I hope the CTL will grow in meeting students' needs through innovative services and employment opportunities.
