My research focuses on how to improve student engagement and learning in organic chemistry. I am exploring several uses of technology and their impact on Flipped learning. Recent examples include:
- inter-institutional collaborative assignments for organic chemistry
- having students create video vignettes to learn chemistry topics
- shifting away from paper lab notebooks to an electronic lab notebook
- using iSpartan to teach infrared spectroscopy and molecular modeling on iPad
- replacing traditional textbooks with the Chemistry LibreText (Open Educational Resources)
