Dr. Vickie Cook has been notified that her article Where Does Conflict Management Fit in the System's Leadership Puzzle? was recently published in the American Association of School Administration's Journal of Scholarship and Practice.
Dr. Len Bogle, Dr. Scott Day, and Dr. Vickie Cook have had their paper accepted for presentation at the 2008 Teaching Professor Conference. Their paper is entitled "Differentiated Learning - Blending Time, Pedagogy, and Instruction." They will be presenting at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center, Kissimmee, Florida on May 16-18, 2008.

UIS teacher education candidates taking the Illinois content area tests for certification have recorded a 100 percent pass rate each year since 1999.
UIS Master's in Teacher Leadership (MTL) and Secondary Math Online programs were rated among the top 5 in the nation by the Wall Street Journal in May 2006.
The Golden Apple Foundation named the top 10 Outstanding K-12 Teachers and two of them are alumni of EHS, Melinda Wilson, '84 and Scott Reed '06.
The Midstate Students Support for Teaching (MSS) program, reaching underrepresented students who might not otherwise attend college, has graduated 30 future teachers.
The Social Work Department is fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
The Human Services Department is fully accredited by the Council for Standards in Human Services Education.
The Human Development Counseling Department is fully accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs.
The Graduate Certificate in Alcohol and Substance Counseling is fully accredited by the Illinois Alcohol & Other Drug Abuse Professional Certification Association.
The Education Division is full accredited by the Illinois State Board of Education with standards from the National Council for the Accreditation of Teachers in Education.
