Accountancy: The College of Business at the University of Illinois Springfield is seeking applications for two tenure-track positions in Accountancy at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin August, 2008. Candidates in all areas of expertise are invited to apply. Awarding of associate professor rank will be consistent with achievements of the candidate and consistent with expectations of an associate professor. This rank is expected to assume leadership roles in the Accountancy Department, the campus, and the profession.
Marketing: Rank: assistant professor or associate professor based on credentials with salary and benefits AACSB competitive and a start date of January or August 2009. Position requires: delivery of marketing courses (on/off campus and online) primarily in the area of marketing principles and marketing management (MBA) and selected electives; student advising; production of intellectual contributions leading to publication in refereed journals; and professional service. An earned doctorate, including PhD or DBA in marketing, from an accredited institution is required for associate rank; ABDs will be considered for assistant. A secondary area of expertise would be desirable. A documented record of excellence in teaching (associate) or a demonstration of potential for excellence in instruction (assistant) is essential. An ability to interact productively with both traditional and non-traditional learners is also preferred. For research, a record of publications in refereed journals is necessary for associate candidates, while a demonstration of potential for published research is required for the assistant rank.
For All Faculty Positions: At the assistant level, candidates should have a Ph.D. or (in exceptional cases) ABD, with a requirement of completion within one year of joining the faculty; a CPA, CIA or CMA (Accountancy only); a promising potential of a significant publication record and/or successful publications already accomplished; and the potential of becoming an exceptional teacher and leader in the profession. Professional work experience is a plus.
