Courses in the Capital Scholars Honors Program are approved for transfer credit through the Illinois Articulation Initiative (IAI). The Illinois Board of Higher Education initiated the IAI to facilitate the transferability of courses among public institutions in Illinois. If you decide to transfer to another Illinois public institution prior to receiving your Baccalaureate degree, the CAP courses will meet general education requirements. To confirm the transfer status of CAP Honors courses, see the IAI website, http://www.itransfer.org/iai/container.aspx?section=students.
The following courses are approved for transfer credit:
Because each 3 credit Question course transfers as 1.5 credits of social science and 1.5 credits humanities, it is beneficial to take a full year of these courses so that you receive full credit in humanities and social science.
The CAP Honors Program staff can help students who have concerns or issues with transferring.
The CAP Honors Program also accepts AP and Dual Credit. If you have questions about which courses will transfer into UIS, please contact Karen Guthrie-Coleman at 217-206-7251 or via email at kguth01s@uis.edu.
