UIS admits a small number of highly qualified first-year college students into the Capital Scholars Honors Program, a four-year baccalaureate program that combines an integrated core of general education courses with study of a foreign language and any of UIS's 20 undergraduate majors.

The Capital Scholars Honors Program offers academically well-prepared and motivated students all the advantages of a private liberal arts education at a public university.
Our program emphasizes mastery of scholarship and citizenship and development of leadership skills.
