UIS provides students with 1 gig of storage space in eDocs, the campus document management system. Edocs is a web accessible, secure file sharing system built on Xythos software. Your Netid and password are used to access the system.

When signing on to lab or classroom computers, you will see a popup box that will ask you if you would like to map your eDocs drive. That is an easy way to access your eDocs storage without signing into eDocs through a web browser. If you would like to map your eDocs drive on your personal computer, you can download the eDocsMapDrivePro program from the eDocs page.

Uploading Files to Personal Storage Using eDocs

How do I upload files to eDocs using Windows?

Microsoft Windows can easily mount your eDocs personal storage space as a normal drive. This will allow you to drag and drop any files or folders into your personal folder. Once this is done you will no longer need to use a web browser to access your personal eDocs storage:

1. Open the Internet Explorer web browser and visit the following page: http://edocs.uis.edu.
2. Enter your NetID and password and log into eDocs normally
3. When you are in eDocs, click the Launch Web Folder button located at the top-right of the interface.
   NOTE: This will only be visible when using Internet Explorer.

Windows will then present your eDocs files as normal desktop folders so you can simply drag and drop files into the appropriate folder. You may now access these files at any time by selecting My Network Places from the Start menu.

How do I upload files to eDocs using a Mac?

Microsoft Windows can easily mount your eDocs personal storage space as a normal drive. This will allow you to drag and drop any files or folders into your personal folder. Once this is done you will no longer need to use a web browser to access your personal eDocs storage:

1. While on the Finder desktop, click Go and select Connect to Server...
2. Under Connect to Server, enter the following path replacing YourNetID with your own personal NetID:
   smb://edocs.uis.edu/YourNetID
3. Click Connect
4. Under WebDAV File System Authentication, type in your NetID and password and then click OK.

You will then be presented with your eDocs files as normal desktop folders. Now you can simply drag and drop files into the appropriate folder.
