What is the StarBikes Program?
A program provided to UIS Students assessed the General Fee and Faculty and Staff who have a valid Rec Membership to promote health and wellness on campus. This program allows you to check out a bike with Campus Recreation for a maximum of FIVE days. For the FIVE days you can ride the bike anywhere you need to go on campus.
How does it work?
You check out a bike, a key, and a lock with Campus Recreation. You will be able to ride the bike around campus for the duration you have the bike checked out. When the day arrives that you are to return the bike you can return it to The Recreation and Athletic Center. You will return the bike, the lock, and the key. When returning the bike to TRAC an extension may be granted if no individuals are on the waiting list.
You must go to TRAC in order to pick up a bike or be put on the waiting list. Phone reservations are not accepted.
How much does it cost?
It is free to all UIS Students assessed the General Fee and Faculty and Staff who have a valid Rec Membership. A Valid icard must be presented when checking out a bike.
If a bike checked out in your name is not returned by closing time of TRAC on the designated due date, a $5 per day late fee will be assessed at the time of return.
