Campus radio at UIS serves as a working laboratory for experiential learning and as an enjoyabe extracurricular activity for students.
Our goal is to provide an outlet for campus and community dialogue, artistic expression, social consciousness, and personal enrichment.
On February 14, 2008, The Prairie Star made its debut broadcasting via an Internet stream. In conjunction with our programming partners, the station currently offers a variety of music and information programming 24 hours each day. As the station expands, full student participation is expected to begin late in 2008. Check back later for more information.
An agreement with the Capital Area Career Center allows for participation by UIS students using the facilities of WQNA. Contact Dr. Jim Grubbs for additional information.
