Kayla Ross

Communication and theatre major Kayla Ross is a busy undergrad at UIS. She spent time as a cheerleader and is now the captain of the UIS Dancing Stars. She also worked backstage in the UIS production of Awake and Sing. Ross was the Princess at the annual Ebony Ball, hosted by the Black Student Union, was chosen for the People’s Choice Award at the Miss Black Illinois pageant, and Miss Congeniality at the Upsilon Xi Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity’s Miss Black and Gold Scholarship pageant. Currently, she works as a Human Resources intern for the Central Counties Health Centers, Inc. After graduation, Ross plans a career as a TV news anchor as well as a professional dancer for the Chicago Luvabulls.
