Miranda Mogle Internship

Intern Miranda Mogle(R) with supervisor Vicki Lohse

My name is Miranda Mogle, and I am a senior at UIS majoring in Business administration. When I was given the opportunity to participate in an internship with Pure Skin, I was excited about the prospect of learning new aspects of the business.

With the goal of being sole proprietor in mind, I knew that this internship would give me a chance to learn new skills and evaluate my goal. Before my internship, my role at Pure Skin centered around customer service and management of employees. For my internship, I have taken on new responsibilities pertaining to finance and accounting, with which I do not have much real-world experience.

During my internship, I  reconciled competences learned in classes with real-life applications. I now have a broader view of what it means to be a business owner. The internship has also helped prepare me for the reality of being solely responsible for my business. Additionally, I had the chance to reflect on aspects of business that I excel at and those that I need to work on. I am so thankful for this internship because it has enhanced the knowledge base I gained from school and work, and it has also strengthened my foundation as a business partner and future sole proprietor.
