SSU/UIS Masters Projects/Theses/PhD Dissertations
Masters projects and theses are an important record of the scholarly activities of a university's students. University Assembly Bill 6-13 "Policies on Graduate Study" of 1978 stated that "the written portion of the [masters] project must be filed in the University Library."
The UIS Archives holds over 5400 projects/theses received from the 1970s onward. These items do not circulate and may be used only in the Archives reading room. Photocopying is limited to five pages per item. Photocopying an entire project/thesis is allowed only with the permission of the author.
A listing of PhD Dissertations from the Public Administration program is also included here. There are circulating copies of these items in the stacks of Brookens Library, archival copies in Archives/Special Collections, and also full-text copies available to UIS users at ProQuest/UMI. You may also search PrairieCat for the copies of these dissertations located in Brookens Library.
Below are links to listings of projects/theses/dissertations housed in the UIS Archives as of July, 2010. The projects are arranged here by program, and then alphabetically by author. A comprehensive database of the entire projects/theses collection is available in the UIS Archives.
