He recalls his invention, the "Halligan plane", an aircraft capable of vertical flight: construction and test flight of the prototype aircraft, aircraft technology, dirigibles, and his experiences at the Third National Aeronautic meeting. He also discusses his family's grocery store and dry goods business, and entertainment: river showboats in Beardstown, carnivals, hot air balloons, theaters and movies, steamboats and railroads, and his musical training and teaching career. References are made to the 1922 Beardstown flood, early aircraft, and famous aviators including Orville

He also discusses early 20th century social activities including Nickelodeons, river-boat shows, and picnics; transportation; WWI and WWII; and the family grocery and dry goods business. Also mentions Beardstown mineral water and the 1923 St. Louis Air Races.

With a sound similar to the more well-known Everly Brothers, the brothers became local favorites with a fan club and performed at local clubs, televisions station music shows, and Uncle Tom’s Barn Dance in Decatur. They discuss playing at a “Splatter Platter Party” in St. Louis with other artists such as Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Mann, Dee Clark, and the Jesters. They also recall performing with Annette Funicello.
