Manuscript Collections
These pages contain entries for manuscript
collections, personal papers, and other items which document local and
regional history. This material originated from individuals, families and
organizations outside of UIS. University records are NOT included in these
entries, although listings for the personal papers of some university
employees containing material of non-institutional historical interest are
included. The entries are listed alphabetically by main entry, which is usually the author, either individual or corporate. The main entry is a subject in a few cases when the creator of the records is unclear or inconvenient to use. This list is not exhaustive; a complete list of collections may be found in the UIS Archives. Also, many published items relating to Springfield and Illinois history may be found in Special Collections, and are included in the on-line catalog for Brookens Library.
