The UIS Capital Scholars Honors Program (CAP) offers academically well-prepared and motivated students all the advantages of a private liberal arts education at a public university. Through an integrated, interdisciplinary core curriculum, the program emphasizes mastery of scholarship, citizenship, and development of leadership skills. In addition encouraging foreign language study, the CAP question courses and core sequence courses expose you to the views of scholars from several disciplines. Each course is linked to and builds upon the skills and knowledge you have developed in previous courses. The CAP courses satisfy many of your general education requirements and prepare you to excel in your chosen major.
