CREATING A MASTERPIECE
After an excellent lunch of turkey, cornbread stuffing, green beans, and our traditional apple and pumpkin pie, we settled back to hear two excellent speakers this year:
Harry Berman, Interim Chancellor spoke of the importance of scholarships and how blessed we are to have such generous donors.
Our second guest speaker was Delinda Chapman, a 1974 alumnus of UIS with a Masters of Arts degree in Educational Administration and retired Asst Deputy Director with the Illinois Department of Public Aid. Delinda spoke about her scholarship in honor of her husband, John E. Erickson, an education professor. It was evident from her comments how much genuine pleasure she has received from the scholarship, both in the way it honors her husband’s memory and in the help that it gives to students.
A very special thank you to Teresa Szabo, Office of Development, for her tireless work in directing this (always successful!) event.
