Therkildsen and Barrows Families
THANK YOU, THERKILDSEN AND BARROWS FAMILY!
The Alfred O. and Barbara Cordwell Therkildsen Field Station at Emiquon will always have a special place at UIS:
It is our university’s first building named in honor of a donor.
Mr. Therkildsen was a gracious and generous man, much beloved by his family, and we are honored to have this memorial of him at UIS.
Each year, members of Mr. Therkildsen’s family make gifts to the Therkildsen Field Station Fund, which supports student research related to Emiquon.
Arthur and Mary Barrows are the most recent individuals to make one of these family gifts. Arthur Barrows was Barbara Cordwell Therkildsen’s son and Alfred O. Therkildsen’s stepson.
Dave Barrows, Associate Chancellor for Administrative Affairs and Executive Director of Facilities & Services at UIS, designed the Field Station. He is also a member of the family, and Dave and his wife Jode have added their generous support to the Therkildsen Fund.
Thank you, Therkildsen and Barrows family members!
