The Heart of the University Campus
The University of Illinois Springfield is building a Student Union, and you can have a role in this exciting new project by making a gift for the Student Union today.
An exciting new giving opportunity
This year, Chancellor Koch is offering the opportunity for you to join an inner circle of donors to the Student Union. As a member of this group, you will receive some special benefits–culminating in the satisfaction of knowing you have made an important contribution to a historic building at UIS. The following chart outlines the benefits you will received for designated levels of giving.
Print this Statement of Gift card (pdf) to send details about your gift or pledge through the mail. You can also call the Office of Advancement; a gift officer will discuss your gift with you and provide information about other ways to make your gift. Thank you in advance for your generosity.

Student Activism and Enthusiasm
Students agree on the importance of this building. In fact, students have led the drive to bring a Student Union to campus. They realize as much as anyone how much a Student Union will enhance life on campus, and they have actually approved a student fee that will help pay for half the cost of the building. That’s commitment!
A Strategic Design for a Landmark Building
Plans for the new Student Union are almost complete. Designed by Dewberry Architects from Peoria, Illinois, working with Workshop Architects from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the Union will be a signature building and an architectural attraction for people throughout Central Illinois.

The total cost of the building will be $21.75 million. As a result of a recent referendum which students passed, student fees will cover about half the cost. Because state funds cannot be used for the remainder of this vital project, however, UIS also needs $8 million in private donor support for the project to be realized.
