The University of Illinois Springfield offers merit-based grants to new out of state students!

Grants will be awarded on a competitive basis, so apply early!

Requirements and Eligibility

  • Students from Missouri, Iowa, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Kentucky are eligible
  • 3.25 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale
  • Minimum 23 ACT or 1050 SAT (Combined Math and Critical Reading)
  • Must be full-time, degree-seeking, on-campus undergraduate students (online programs are not eligible)
  • Must have valid FAFSA on file with the Office of Financial Assistance by the first day of classes
  • Must have official transcripts received by the Office of Admissions by the start of classes
  • Your admissions application will serve as the scholarship application
  • Renewable for up to four years with instituttional GPA of 3.25 or better

Award Amounts

  • Full-time students (12 credit hours or more) will receive $6920.

Grants will be awarded to students on a competitive basis until funds have been exhausted. Students admitted conditionally pending receipt of final transcripts due to in-progress courses at their community college will be considered for the scholarship provided final transcripts arrive by the start of the term and they still meet the eligibility criteria. Awards will be disbursed through the Office of Financial Assistance and credited toward educational costs on the student's account -- half in the fall semester and the other half in the spring semester. This scholarship is renewable with an institutional cumulative GPA of 3.25 or better.
