Academic Affairs Division

The primary functions of the Division of Academic Affairs are to coordinate campus operations and direct activities surrounding the implementation and achievement of the campus' academic mission, to coordinate campus operations and initiatives across the divisions, and to coordinate campus planning and budgeting activities.

Student Affairs Division

Student life at the University of Illinois at Springfield is both stimulating and comfortable. Intramural athletics, a number of active student organizations, and regularly scheduled cultural attractions broaden campus life. Support Services, ranging from housing to health care to computer labs, make student life at UIS as convenient as possible. All services and activities are available to full- and part-time students.

Access and Equal Opportunity
The Office of Access and Equal Opportunity is responsible for overseeing compliance by the campus with the various state and federal laws/regulations and university policies having to do with nondiscrimination, affirmative action, and equal opportunity. The Office discharges its responsibility by: advising the campus administration on policies and procedures to ensure equal opportunity; monitoring and reporting hires of faculty and administrators; providing training concerning nondiscrimination/equal opportunity to members of the campus community; and investigating individual's (student, faculty or staff) grievances of discrimination.

Constituent Relations
The Office of Constituent Relations advises the chancellor on matters relating to all branches of government, and serves as the liaison with the University of Illinois Government Relations Office. The office also represents the chancellor on various campus and university committees, and coordinates responses to issues that are related to various constituencies, including students, parents and friends of the university.

Development
The UIS Office of Development, in cooperation with the University of Illinois Foundation, raises private support through contributions from alumni, friends, corporations, associations, private foundations and other sources. The Office assists donors in making gifts of cash, securites, property, corporate matching gifts and deferred gifts including those through wills, charitable trusts and other estate planning arrangements. The professional staff meets with and provides confidential counsel to donors, assists with campus development efforts and provides services for gift administration and stewardship of funds to donor and university guidelines.

Campus Relations
The Office of Campus Relations is the primary source of information for and about the campus and the primary channel of communication between the campus and the public. The office is responsible for news information and media relations, the development and production of recruitment materials, the development of image/recruitment advertising campaigns and information programs, and the maintenance of files of FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) requests submitted to the campus. In addition, the office works closely with the chancellor regarding public and media relations.

Conference Services
Conference Services is an outreach arm and a central place of contact for scheduling meeting rooms, managing events, and coordinating non-credit activities on the campus. Conference Services manages approximately 800 events annually in UIS's fully equipped conference level in the Public Affairs Center.

Web Services
The office of Web Services oversees the UIS Web site, including the campus home page and top level pages of the site, and other department and program Web sites. The office creates and maintains campus Web policy and coordinates all matters related to Web sites at UIS.
