Stephen Owusu-Ansah

Stephen Owusu-Ansah, Ph.D., CBM and CIA. Dr. Owusu-Ansah received his Ph.D. in Accounting from Middlesex University (U.K.), M.Sc. in Project Analysis, Finance and Investment from University of York (U.K.), B.Sc. in Administration (Accounting Major) from University of Ghana.  He has international experience in both academia and industry.  Before joining us, Dr. Owusu-Ansah taught at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Saudi Arabia, and the University of Texas-Pan American, U.S.A.

Dr. Owusu-Ansah’s teaching interests include financial accounting, international accounting, internal auditing, and cost and managerial accounting.  His research interests are in the areas of corporate financial reporting and disclosure, fraud detection, corporate governance, control and compliance, and social and environmental accounting and disclosure.  His publications have appeared in refereed international scholarly journals, including ABACUS, The Journal of International Financial Management and Accounting, Accounting and Business Research, The International Journal of Accounting, and The European Accounting Review.

Dr. Owusu-Ansah is currently serving on the editorial boards of The African Finance Journal (South Africa) and Research in Accounting in Emerging Economies (U.K.), and had previously served on the editorial board of The Journal of International Accounting Research (U.S.A.).  He also frequently serves as an ad-hoc reviewer of many scholarly journals.

Dr. Owusu-Ansah is an active member of the American Accounting Association, European Accounting Association, British Accounting Association, Association of Professionals in Business Management, Institute of Internal Auditors, and International Association for Accounting Education and Research.
