Lisa Chen recieved her Ph.D. in Accounting at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Before joining UIS, she taught at Beijing Normal University, most recently at the Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Her teaching interests include accounting information system, financial accounting, international accounting, and managerial/cost accounting.
She has served as a private consultant and advised private entities in China on issues related to cost management and analysis since 1997. Her research interests are on behavioral aspects of accounting performance, corporate governance, and information system.
Dr. Chen has earned various service and academic awards including SIUC Outstanding Graduate Reward, Pontikes Research Award, BNU Young Teacher Excellent Reward, and Huayu Steel Structure Limit Education Reward. She is an active member of the American Accounting Association and the International Association for Accounting Education and Research.
