Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
Faculty and staff members who handle student information are governed in their access to and use of such information by the 1974 Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). In compliance with this act, UIS has adopted a policy and procedures to assure proper handling of such records while protecting their confidentiality.
