The Center for Teaching and Learning, a unit within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, offers help to students in improving skills in writing, grammar and usage, math and statistics, science, reading, studying, test taking, and, through a peer tutoring program, virtually any subject taught on the campus.
The UIS community can obtain help in a variety of ways: through one-on-one appointments, though supplemental instruction, via email, accessing the online handouts and tutorials, visiting the CTL in person for handouts, or requesting a class visit. Although students are encouraged to seek out CTL services on their own, instructors or advisers are also encouraged to direct students to CTL for assistance.
