Eligible employees are granted vacation leave, a pre-approved paid absence from work, to be used for personal and vacation reasons. Leave for vacation purposes will be arranged with due regard for operating needs of the University and to accommodate the convenience of the employee.
Full-time academic professional staff members appointed on a 12-month basis receive 24 workdays of paid vacation per appointment year; part-time staff members appointed on a 12-month basis receive 24 workdays of paid vacation at the percentage of their appointment per appointment year. A maximum of 48 workdays of vacation can be accumulated and carried over into the new appointment year which begins August 16. During a partial-year appointment, vacation is prorated.
