Survey Research Office

The Survey Research Office (SRO) offers a full range of survey research services and selected data management services to campus units and outside clientele, specializing in services to governmental agencies and non-profit organizations. The SRO conducts periodical “omnibus” statewide surveys, offering organizations the opportunity to gain information on Illinois public opinion by “buying” a limited set of questions without having to bear the cost of an entire statewide poll.

Nearly all of the funding for the SRO is generated through contracts with outside clientele. Recently, the SRO has served more than 20 state and local agencies and more than a dozen non-profit organizations. Projects have ranged from statewide and local surveys of the general public to surveys of specific populations (such as organization staff, program participants, customers, and patrons). The office also conducts annual surveys of alumni for UIS and offers assistance with the development and analysis of surveys for various campus units.
