Recycling on Campus
UIS is involved in several recycling and source reduction activities to reduce its waste and comply with the College Recycling Law. In 1990, the Illinois General Assembly enacted the College Recycling Law, requiring each Illinois public university and community college to develop a solid waste reduction plan to reduce the amount of waste generated by 40 percent by January 1, 2000. A copy of the UIS Solid Waste Reduction Plan can be viewed at the UIS Information Center in Brookens Library and in Facility Services (BSB 33B).
