UIS is located on approximately 745 acres of land, including almost 400 acres of farmland and about 350 acres of diverse landscape, parking, and athletic and recreational fields.
The facilities and services office includes a full-time horticulturist with responsibility for campus landscaping, grounds maintenance, snow removal, and assistance with outdoor event set-ups.
