Many of our scholarships honor a particular faculty member or the memory of a late faculty member:
The Joe Wilkins Scholarship
was established in his honor
for undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in the College of Business
and Management at UIS.
The Grace Brorstrom Oakley Scholarship
for continuing
part-time or full-time undergraduate students enrolled in an online degree
program at UIS who are achieving well academically. Students must only
be enrolled in online courses at a distance. Grace Brorstrom Oakley dedicated
much of her life encouraging women to achieve. To reflect Mrs. Oakley's
commitment to others, single mothers who returned to higher education after
being out a period of time are particularly encouraged to apply for this
$1000 scholarship.
The Lee Frost-Kumpf Scholarship
was established in memory
of the late UIS Political Studies faculty member, Lee Frost-Kumpf. Recipient
must be pursuing a master's degree in political studies or public administration.
The Don Stanhope Scholarship
was established in honor
of Don Stanhope. A golf outing has been arranged the last few years by
UIS accounting alumni to add to the endowment of this scholarship. This
scholarship is for students pursuing a degree in accounting and is renewable
for up to two additional years. There is a GPA requirement of 3.3 or above.
