The Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Provost at the University of Illinois Springfield (UIS) serves as the chief academic and budget officer for the campus. The VCAA/Provost oversees academic and budgetary policy and priorities, ensures the quality of the faculty and student body, and helps to maintain educational excellence.

As UIS’ chief academic officer, the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Provost provides campus-wide oversight for graduate education, undergraduate education, online teaching & learning, budget and administrative planning, research administration, academic human resources, and information technology. In addition to four academic colleges and Brookens Library, units reporting to the VCAA/Provost include the Center for State Policy and Leadership and Sangamon Auditorium.
