Campus
Police Department
UIS employs a full-time, full service police force to protect and
provide assistance to students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
Officers routinely patrol the campus on bicycles and in cars, assuring a safe and secure environment in which academic endeavors thrive.
Eighteen "Code Blue" emergency telephones are located strategically throughout campus and connect the caller immediately to the police department.
Residence Hall Security: Lincoln
Residence Hall, home to many of our first year students, has
a top quality security system, electronic building access,
video monitoring of entrances and exits, and a full time residence
hall director.
Campus Health Services
Cost effective, comprehensive, accessible, and professional health
care is provided to all students whether or not they have student
health insurance. A wellness resource and self-help area is available
in the clinic and a supply of over-the-counter remedies is available.
All care is confidential.
Counseling Center
The Counseling Center staff includes trained professionals qualified
to provide confidential counseling services, outreach, and psychological
consultation to individuals, couples, families, and groups. The center
also offers workshops on topics such as stress management, conflict
resolution, test anxiety, and more.
Child Care Center
Care is provided at the campus Child Care Center for children aged
15 months to 12 years. Considered one of the best child care facilities
in the community, the center is dedicated to reflecting state-of-the-art
practices in working with children and providing access to campus
resources, such as the gymnasium.
