The University of Illinois at Springfield offers several music courses that fulfill UIS Visual and Performing Arts and Humanities requirements in the UIS General Education Curriculum. These include performance courses such as chorus, band, chamber orchestra, and various small ensembles, and the introduction to music technology course. Although UIS does not offer a music degree, music studies are integral to a liberal arts curriculum. These courses offer students the opportunity to develop skills in reading, creating, and performing music.
