The University of Illinois at Springfield offers several music performance courses such as the all-campus choir, pep band, string ensemble, world music percussion ensemble, and Native American flute circle.

Although UIS does not offer a music degree, music studies are integral to a liberal arts curriculum. These courses offer students the opportunity to develop skills in reading and performing music and to expand their sense of responsibility as essential members of a performing group. This results in a stronger sense of self and of connection to UIS as a whole.

Music course offerings are listed in the current course schedule under the MUS course prefix.
