Information about Tap Workshop with Savion Glover

Savion Glover is a Tony-winning hoofer, choreographer and producer. His numerous credits include Broadway shows The Tap Dance Kid, Black and Blue, Jelly’s Last Jam and Bring in ‘da Noise, Bring in ‘da Funk, and the films Tap with Gregory Hines and Sammy Davis, Jr.; Bamboozled by Spike Lee; and Happy Feet, an Academy Award winner choreographed by Glover. Often referring to himself as one of “The Last HooFeRz Standing”, Glover’s talent is undeniable.
In SoLe Sanctuary, Glover's reverence for the art and legends of tap dance is put to the stage in the form of a living altar where he can pay his respects to the craft. It is Sole Sanctuary where Glover performs to keep alive the memory of his “fathers”, the greatest tappers like Hines, Davis, John Coltrane, Jimmy Slyde and others. Incorporating photos and other mediums of remembrance along with his seamless tap skills, SoLe Sanctuary is Glover’s dedication to the men who he had the privilege of working alongside. Their legacies continue to shine through Glover, who tells their stories – and his own – on stage.
“Savion is possibly the best tap dancer that ever lived.” -
Tap legend, Gregory Hines
