UIS Students

_______________________________________________________________

Sangamon Auditorium offers several ways UIS students can be involved.

Volunteer Ushers - UIS students can join our usher corps to help patrons attending events and see some great shows for free! Fill out our online form to get more information.

Ticket Discount - Take advantage of the UIS student discount of up to 50% for most events.

Star Rewards STARewards - When attending any Sangamon Auditorium event, don't forget to swipe your i-card at the Ticket Office to receive STAReward points. Click here for more information about the STAReward program, which is managed by the UIS Student Government Association.

Academic Connections - Students are welcome to use Sangamon Auditorium as a resource when you need to earn volunteer hours or do research for a class project relating to the performing arts. Also, every year some Sangamon Auditorium events are included in the ECCE Speaker Series. For more information, contact Amy Zepp at 217.206.6150 or azepp2@uis.edu.

Special Projects - Whenever possible, Sangamon Auditorium includes UIS students in special projects relating to our performances. Some recent events include:

  • Sangamon Auditoirum worked with Fifth House Ensemble, a Chicago-based group, to collaborate with students and faculty in areas of environmental studies for a performance called Listen to the River. Music selections performed by Fifth House's wind ensemble were interspersed with scientific presnetations relating to the Illinois River.
  • Vocal and instrumental students in UIS Music ensembles had the opportunity to perform on stage alongside members of the US Army Field Band and Chorus.
  • Students in UIS Theatre classes attended a workshop with members of The Acting Company when they were here to perform Romeo & Juliet. Students learned about interpreting Shakespeare and performing stage combat.

Let us know your ideas!

If you have any ideas for ways work with Sangamon Auditorium, please contact Amy Zepp at 217.206.6150 or azepp2@uis.edu. We are always happy to have students involved in what we do!
