Aaron Mulvey
candidate for Secretary

I am Aaron Mulvey, and I will be a sophomore come next year when the new people for positions are in place.  I am seeking the position of Secretary on the Student Government Association at UIS.  I believe that I am the perfect man for the job with my leadership capabilities, my experience, and my organizational skills.

One main issue that is important in regarding the student body is leadership.  I stepped up as a leader my sophomore year of high school as I took it upon myself to ask Governor Blagojevich “where Rochester High School’s promised money was?” at the Illinois State Fair in August of 2008.  In high school I also led the pep assembly’s and dodge ball tournaments as the emcee.  I represented my Rural Electric Cooperative as I was chosen to go on a trip to Washington D.C. to speak with Congressmen about alternative energies.    These are a few of the instances where I have stepped up as a leader, and I hope this proves that I am capable of being able to take on that leadership role.

The student body should also have someone with experience and organization.  My experiences include being on SGA for one year as the Undergraduate Student Senator and Student Council for eight years and serving as President my senior year.  I served on the Student Advisory Committee for two years, and I was also elected Vice-President of National Honors Society and German Club in high school.  From being in many clubs, I definitely have the organization skills to take on the position of Secretary.

With all of my leadership, experience, and organization within student government I believe I can fulfill my obligation to take on the position of Secretary for the Student Government Association at UIS.
