Preston Hardge

Preston is a graduate student pursuing a Masters in Public Administration. After following media reports on the Troy Davis case and witnessing the social injustice of this case, Preston could not help but imagine how many other individuals were innocently locked up or even executed. Wanting to join the fight for social justice, Preston began volunteering for the Illinois Innocence Project in Fall 2011.

In working with the Project, Preston hopes to gain more insight and understanding into wrongful convictions so that he can become an advocate for those affected by criminal injustice.

Preston received his undergraduate degree in Journalism and Communications at Hampton University where President Obama served as his commencement speaker for graduation. After receiving his master's degree, Preston plans to pursue a Ph.D. program.
