Students interested in ESL classes are encouraged to speak with advisors in the ESL Program to determine individual course schedules. By offering a Placement Exam and through individual counseling, we can help determine which ESL courses best meet your needs and which general education or major classes go well together. Students are welcome to visit the Center for Teaching and Learning to work individually with one of the ESL Writing Specialists or to attend workshops.

Faculty are encouraged to contact the ESL Coordinator should they suspect that a student might be having language difficulties. We can offer an English assessment exam which will help determine the challenges the student faces and suggest a course of action. Faculty may refer students through the Early Warning System and/or by contacting Dana Atwell via phone or email at any point during the semester.
