ASP 102 Stars & Galaxies
A classical introductory astronomy course that has no pre-requisites. The subjects covered in this course range from the Sun and stars to other galaxies to the origins of the universe.
ASP 201 University Physics I (Calculus I required as a prerequisite)
First semester introductory physics geared towards chemistry majors and students interested in carreers in health sciences (i.e. Pre-Med).
ASP 407 Practical Astronomy
This is an introductory astronomy course intended to take students with an interest and a good math background and give them some of the tools to start doing their own citizen science in astronomy. There are no pre-requisites, however it is expected that students have mastered the skills taught in general education introductory composition, math, and physical science classes before they enroll in this class.
Courses are open to undergraduate and master's degree students. In 400-level courses, however, graduate students are expected to do additional work, including reading selected primary sources and, when appropriate, completing additional observatory/laboratory work.
